Liver transplant

What is a liver transplant?
A liver transplant is a surgical procedure to replace a diseased or damaged liver with a healthy liver from a donor. This procedure is used to treat end-stage liver diseases, such as cirrhosis or hepatitis. It is also used to treat some types of cancer that have spread to the liver. The donated liver can come from a living donor or a deceased donor. We provide
pre transplant assessment, Liver Transplant surgery and follow up of transplant recipients at Solid Organ Transplant Clinic at VGH.
